Ingredients
12 Oreos1
4 ounces white chocolate or white candy melts
2 ounces green candy melts2
rainbow nonpareils3 optional
yellow or gold beads or stars4 optional
chocolate jimmies5 optional
Instructions
Line a spacious baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set it aside. Melt the white chocolate or white candy melts until smooth, either in a microwave-safe cup or bowl or by using a double boiler. If a double boiler is used, transfer the melted white chocolate to a small, shallow cup or bowl and set it aside.
Take one Oreo at a time, dip the bottom half into the melted white chocolate, and place it on the prepared baking sheet to harden, which takes about 15 minutes. Once the white chocolate sets, melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler until smooth.
Transfer the melted green candies to a piping bag with a tiny corner snipped off, a piping bag equipped with a size 1 or size 2 piping tip, or a small cookie decorating bottle fitted with a size 2 piping tip.
With a zig-zag motion, pipe lines to form an abstract tree shape, then add decorations. It’s recommended to decorate only 1 or 2 Oreos at a time as the lines tend to set quickly, ensuring the decorations adhere. Allow the cookies to set completely before serving or packaging for gifting. Store any leftovers at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. While Oreos freeze well for up to 2 months, note that they may lose some crunch. Wrap them tightly and thaw at room temperature in a single layer.
ENJOY!
